As we all know, since the begining of internet, the e-mail was one the thins mostly used, the first what i remember was the email accounts were paid, the email servers buy crazy amounts by 2Mb as the best service. But now we can let that behind for the newest e-mail services “free e-mail services” (full of ads) without space limit as yahoo (it’s hard for me believe that, i think they just take of the space meter) because, think this, almost 5Gb of email storage, u have to use the service, sending photos, music and documents every day to fill out one of that accounts. Buy the way, i was looking for a email contact at hotmail and it surprise me hotmail give up the storage to 5Gb…. crazy thing……. google…. where are u? i want that storage at my gmail account.

Please Mr Google, upgrade all accounts.
After see how hotmail increases their storage i want to looking for into yahoo and i found that they has a new interface beta to test, it was so interesting to me but as i don’t use yahoo, i don’t care, i don’t gonna use it here is the screenshot!

Por fin, hasta que tuve tiempo para escribir, bueno, siguiendo con el tema de DreamHost, pude pagar el servicio. Obviamente no desde Argentina, pero como tengo la suerte de tener a mi viejo en España, un pais habilitado para pagar con google checkout pude hacer el pago… ahora todavia no entiendo porque no puedo hacer el pago con mi tarjeta, para que mierda tengo 2 tarjetas internacionales si no puedo pagar el fucking servicio (si, me quede caliente), bue ya esta, tengo dreamhost por 2 años un servicio mas que excelente, acceso ssh, 200Gb de disco, 2Tb de transferencia mensual, svn, dominios y subdominios ilimitados, bases mysql ilimitadas y muchas cosas mas.

Hace tiempo teniamos con pablo ganas de comprar los servicios del famoso hosting dreamhost, ya que tiene excelentes servicios, inclusive en el plan mas bajo, con unos U$D 10 podes conseguir 150gb de disco y miles de sevicios copados como svn y bases de datos ilimitadas. Pero bueno, no todo es color de rosa, el domingo 26 de Agosto de 2007 nos dispusimos a contratar el servicio, yo queria estrenar mi tarjeta de credito “internacional” y me encontre con la maldita sorpresa que Google Checkout no tiene dentro de los countries disponibles a nuestro querido pais. Por lo cual se me fue a la mierda todo lo que venia planeando hacer cuando tuviera dreamhost. Asi que ni lento ni peresozo me dispuse a escribirles a los sres de dreamhost el problema y salio algo asi:

No man, no te voy a mandar un cheque a estados unidos para pagarte, en que estan pensando? Es la era de las comunicaciones, las transacciones electronicas, siendo un servicio tan “groso” como puede ser que no tengas servicio en todos lados?
Visto y considerando que no iba a tener muchas soluciones por parte de esta gente me dispuse a agarrarmelas con el que realmente tiene el problema, Google. El tipo estaba loco, se iba a pelear con san Google.

La cosa empezo asi:

Mi nuevo juguete, un dia aburrido como el domingo 19 de agosto de 2007 me levanto almuerzo, me siento frente a la pc y comienzo con el tipico domingo aburrido de todas las semanas, encima hoy hay un clima de mierda, ni da para salir. La cuestion es que me pongo a charlar con un amigo y me dice: “acabo de vender una notebook” y yo pense, “posta estas laburando un domingo?” y claro, como no iba a estar laburando si son una ganga, HP 530 notebook PC, Procesador CoreDuo, 1Gb de Ram, 120Gb SATA, DVD-RW, pantalla 15″ wide, que mas podes pedir a un precio mas que perfecto ($3600) el tipo habia vendido 2 en una rato y le dije: “y traeme una a casa, yo tb quiero!” asi que asi alegre el dia… un domingo fuera de lo comun con juguete nuevo.

Bueno gente, aca estoy denuevo, esta vez vengo a contarles que consegui trabajo nuevo y es para ingresar en un grupo de administradores/implementadores en una empresa grosa, dado que su plataforma es novell me di a la tarea de instalar su sistema operativo que en este caso se llama netware, mas precisamente la version 6.5.
En principio tuve varios problemas para poder instalarlo, como no andaba con el equipamiento adecuado para realizar la instalacion, lo intente sobre el virtual pc de ms, pero no lograba instalarlo… siempre me tiraba error sobre la placa de red y como no tenia tiempo de andar dando vueltas, se me ocurrio probarlo sobre vmware ya que tiene una opcion por defecto para instalar netware.

Esta vez no tuve ningun problema, se mando a instalar perfectamente detectando la pseudo placa de red, hasta que me pregunto que tipo de instalacion queria hacer, entonces le mande personalizada y le mande TODOS los servicios. Como queria ver lo mas que pudiera me mande a hacer esa animalada… imaginense un sistema operativo servidor corriendo apache, tomcat, java, y todos los servicios locos de red que trae novell, como eDirectory, iFolder, GroupWise, etc. Todo esto sobre una maquina virtual con 512Mb.

Lo que les puedo contar es que la instalacion fue exitosa, pero no tuve mucho tiempo para investigar… lo que si les puedo decir que es pesadisimo, tarda muuucho en cargar, pero una vez dentro parece ser que anda bastante bien, igual si lo quieren probar… les recomiendo hacerlo sobre un equipo dualcore con 2Gb de ram para darle 1Gb a la virtual.

Sin mas que agregar por el momento me retiro, ya tendre mas para contarles proximamente.

Erase un verano en Villa Gesell, de aquellos a los que uno acude a descansar, echarse un rato en la playa, quemarse mucho y tomarse una cervecita bien fria para pasar la tarde. Y se me paso por la cabeza ir a buscarlo a elmo y la cuestion fue que me vino a buscar, porque levante la cabeza y lo vi!, y le grite facu! y me miro con cara de “te conozco?” y media hora mas tarde me dijo “mingo” y le pregunte, el negro?, y me dijo nacho esta en la chata, por alla…. y me señalo la direccion. Me fui a saludarlo y ahi estaba el, junto con elmo y sus ojos celestes!, grande morty!. (fue mas o menos asi la situacion!)
